Light heavyweight champion Jon Jones survived a challenging first round to choke out former champion Lyoto Machida at 4:26 of the second round in UFC 140 in Toronto, Canada yesterday.
Machida's unique striking skills gave Jones considerably more trouble than any previous opponent had as "The Dragon" was able to land clean punches and kicks at Jones.
Jones (15-1) becomes the first 205-pound champion since Chuck (The Iceman) Liddell to make back-to-back successful title defences.
